Job Summary:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in Croydon. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide individualized support to students, helping them to access learning activities and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals and groups of students to ensure they are kept on task and complete activities set by the teacher.
  • Deal with behavioral and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
  • Offer support to the class teacher, including helping to implement lesson plans, aims, and content.
  • Take small groups of students for defined activities.
  • Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
  • Build good student-teacher rapport.

Requirements:

  • Ideal experience working with learning difficulties, SEMH, and/or EBD.
  • Previous experience managing challenging/confrontational behavior.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or young people.
  • Valid and Enhanced Child or Child and Adult DBS check registered on the update service.

Working Conditions:

This is a long-term contract, working Monday to Friday, full-time. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment, making a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
