Job Title: Senior Ruby On Rails Developer

Ocho is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby On Rails Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications using Ruby on Rails.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance our web applications using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with our product team to build new features and improve existing functionality
  • Build new APIs for web and mobile applications
  • Integrate with third-party tools and services
  • Identify and resolve bugs and performance issues
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the existing backend for web and mobile applications
  • Explore and evaluate new tools and technical solutions
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working with large data sets using Ruby and familiarity with stable back-end integration techniques, especially with Postgres
  • Ability to create new back-end components
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining reliable Ruby (Rails) code and maintaining APIs
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and libraries such as Sidekiq, Twilio, and Devise
  • Proficiency with Git and other version control tools
  • Familiarity with RESTful services and third-party APIs
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including Stimulus JS, ES6, and CSS3
  • Familiarity with testing tools
  • Experience with monitoring and performance tuning tools such as NewRelic, Datadog, and PGHero
  • Experience with building GraphQL APIs for frontend applications is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Turbolinks / Hotwire
  • ElasticSearch
  • Github
  • Kafka or other streaming/queuing solutions
