Job Summary

The Director of Operational Finance plays a pivotal role in leading a team of finance professionals to manage a substantial budget, influencing a Trust-wide revenue budget exceeding £1 billion and an annual Capital budget of £60 million. This position requires strong leadership and financial expertise to navigate the challenging NHS financial landscape and ensure the Trust's financial information is accurate and compliant with professional accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and supportive leadership to the finance team, ensuring high-quality and responsive outputs.
  • Offer sound financial expertise to support a quality accounting service, adhering to accounting and governance standards.
  • Lead the development of robust governance arrangements for Finance and Procurement, ensuring quality reporting and efficient processes.
  • Optimize software solutions for enhanced efficiency and establish clear processes for monitoring expenditure.
  • Lead statutory financial duties, including the submission of the Annual Consolidated Compliance, and develop necessary procedures, controls, and forecasting.
  • Constructively participate in the ICS Director of Finance group and provide a quality service to DCHS as part of the Integrated System.
