Position Overview

We are seeking a Sales Ledger Assistant on an 8-month fixed-term contract to support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Team. This position encompasses all aspects of the sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate banking and posting of cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all sales invoices for relevant divisions within the Accounting System.
  • Daily posting of cash received via BACS and cheque, allocating as necessary.
  • Prepare bank deposits and deliver them to the bank as required.
  • Generate and process manual invoices in the system and distribute as requested.
  • Handle relevant intercompany transfer payments.
  • Complete account allocations and follow up on unallocated cash payments.
  • Manage incoming mail and emails.
  • Assist with Bank Reconciliation.
  • Conduct Month-End Tasks and fulfill relevant reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve cash-related queries.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in IT, with a basic understanding of Word and strong Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Sage 500 or similar accounting software.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
