Position Overview:

As the Product Category Manager, you will assume responsibility for the Tech21 product lines. Your role will involve analyzing product performance and implementing strategies to enhance the growth of these categories.

Your focus will be on applying a structured and data-driven methodology to facilitate New Product Development (NPD) from a category standpoint. This approach will empower more efficient decision-making processes, thereby accelerating the delivery of new products.

Collaborating closely with the Head of Product & Category, this position will outline a clear long-term strategic vision and actionable plans aimed at driving transformation and growth within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Tech21 product lines.
  • Provide data-informed product recommendations for upcoming launches, leveraging category insights.
  • Analyze consumer trends and usage patterns to inform product and feature suggestions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand market features and pricing strategies.
  • Evaluate retail and online environments to identify product opportunities.
  • Develop NPD design briefs that consider Features, Advantages & Benefits (FAB) and Product Propositions, initiating design projects.
  • Determine target Costs of Goods Sold (COGs) for NPD initiatives to ensure project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Finance to create and maintain a comprehensive business plan for products.
  • Regularly assess and communicate category performance with Finance, providing a clear narrative to guide future actions.
  • Partner with the Design team and external collaborators to sustain an NPD pipeline that fosters category growth.
  • Act as the primary owner of Tech21 product categories within the organization.
  • Support the Sales team by presenting to clients and integrating feedback into business strategies.
  • Maintain and disseminate a dynamic Product Roadmap (products by device launch).
  • Update internal and external stakeholders on category and project progress.
  • Monitor competitor activities and keep the organization informed about developments in your category.
  • Build and maintain relationships with OEM partners.
  • Manage a team as the organizational structure expands.
  • Aim to enhance Product & Category Management practices within Tech21.
  • Assist in delivering projects across other categories as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated success in a global business environment with diverse teams, fostering strong relationships and a collaborative culture.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, with a data-driven mindset focused on solutions and results.
  • Ability to provide a narrative and clear recommendations based on research findings.
  • Relevant experience in product information management, category management, or business/product development.
  • Strong project and portfolio management skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to optimize the use of personnel and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in presenting and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in utilizing dashboards for comprehensive data and insight reporting.
