We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Stockton Hall Hospital, a 112-bedded Forensic medium secure psychiatric hospital. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, safe nursing care to patients with mental illness and learning disabilities.
About the Role:The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing, with experience in leading and managing a team of nurses. You will be responsible for coordinating the care given by colleagues, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support. You will also be responsible for supervising junior staff and students, and working collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to maintain a safe and therapeutic working environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality, safe nursing care to patients with mental illness and learning disabilities.
- Lead and manage a team of nurses, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support.
- Supervise junior staff and students, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the MDT to maintain a safe and therapeutic working environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that patients' needs are met.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse with 6-12 months post-registration experience.
- Active NMC registration and completed preceptorship or equivalent programme.
- Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
- Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
- Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
