Engineering Operations Supervisor

Are you a skilled engineering leader with a background in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry? We are collaborating with a prominent food production organization seeking an Engineering Operations Supervisor.
In this role, you will oversee the engineering teams working on a rotating shift schedule, with engineering team leaders reporting directly to you.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range of £55,000 - £60,000 based on experience
- 4 on 4 off - Day shifts only

Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the Engineering Manager, taking charge of the Shift Engineering Leaders and their teams.
- Manage engineering permits and contractor oversight as necessary.
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks are executed to a high standard, utilizing the Shire system for effective planning and tracking. Continuously assess and enhance PPM processes with the shift teams.
- Complete Piranha Reports for all tasks performed by yourself and your direct reports.
- Evaluate engineering staff utilization and completion rates for both planned and unplanned tasks in alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Take initiative on identified countermeasures, planning and implementing solutions accordingly.
- Enhance the knowledge base of the shift teams, leveraging support from the broader Engineering team.
- Foster strong relationships between shift leaders and production managers to ensure smooth operations and reporting.
- Assist the engineering manager in maintaining compliance with engineering quality and safety standards.
- Develop a training framework for shift leaders and engineering teams.
- Guide engineering teams in taking responsibility for toolbox audits, workshop standards, and adherence to all quality system audits.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar supervisory or managerial role.
- Exposure to the FMCG sector, particularly in food production.
- General understanding of site services.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes.
- Familiarity with electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.
- Proven people management skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance strategies and techniques.
