About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineer to join our Data Technology Solutions function. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping, leading, and coordinating technical change into service.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, scope, and lead development work to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, including design, build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with IT, solution architecture, product owners, infrastructure, testing, and release teams to review data solution options and assess impact on existing functionality, data, and systems.
- Primary contact for 3rd party delivery partners for sharing of SME knowledge and processes.
- Proactively drive the detailed design of solutions, ensuring they are supportable within the service, meet business requirements, and include non-functional requirements.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of current technologies and platforms, including Oracle, SAP Business Objects, Denodo Virtualisation, and MDM solutions.
- Experience in metadata-driven design for data pipelines.
- Proven communication skills at all levels, from engaging with senior business leaders to detailed technical conversations with developers and testers.
- Availability for on-call support for critical business systems.
- Proven ability to manage the work of a development team on a project, directing, guiding, and mentoring YBS colleagues and contractors.
- Extensive experience in the design, build, and implementation of complex application systems.
- Proven data modeling and database design capabilities.
