Research Scientist Senior

National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist Senior to join the Chemical and Biological Sciences Department in Teddington, South West London.

The successful candidate will work on developing Raman and other optical spectroscopies for life science and health applications, collaborating with a research team on state-of-the-art measurement systems, and delivering R&D for industrial customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing advanced data analysis techniques using MATLAB and/or Python
  • Presenting research in peer-reviewed journals and at conferences
  • Engaging with external organisations to maximise scientific progress
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver collaborative R&D projects

Requirements:

  • PhD in physical sciences or engineering
  • Experience with advanced data analysis and tools such as MATLAB and/or Python
