Job Title: Child Health Specialist

Safeguarding children is a critical aspect of healthcare, and we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Health Specialist to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify vulnerable children and families early and develop effective plans to support their health and wellbeing.
  • Recognize situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of individuals and family members.
  • Develop knowledge and skills to assess risk and harm, and make accurate assessments.
  • Learn to make effective social care referrals to provide the right level of support to children and families in need.
  • Support the Safeguarding Liaison Sister in assessing children presenting to our Paediatric Emergency Department and Paediatric Assessment Unit.
Requirements:
  • Registered nurse with NMC.
  • Awareness and understanding of concepts and developments in relation to safeguarding children.
  • Postgraduate experience as a nurse.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Registered Children's nurse with NMC.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Experience of safeguarding practice, particularly in children.
