Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Global Category Manager to join our team at Distinct, a leading global manufacturing business. As a senior procurement professional, you will be responsible for driving strategy and growth across indirect spend categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global category strategies for indirect spend categories, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead negotiations and contract management with key suppliers, ensuring optimal pricing and terms.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and improve supplier performance through data-driven insights and collaborative relationships.
- Monitor market trends and identify new sourcing opportunities to stay ahead of the competition.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
- Manage and coach a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Assist in the recruitment of new personnel to strengthen the procurement function.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in category management, preferably within a global manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of delivering results.
- Indirect spend management experience, with a deep understanding of procurement processes and systems.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Background in coaching/mentoring procurement teams, with a focus on developing talent and improving performance.
