Product Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Category Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate and Secure Best Pricing: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing for our products.
- Manage Inventory and Stock Levels: Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure that stock availability meets customer demand.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency, and implement changes to drive business growth.
- Liaise with Internal Teams: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and R&D teams to ensure that product development and launch plans are aligned with business objectives.
- Manage Spend and Stock Holding: Oversee a spend of approximately £10 million and stock holding of £1 million for the category.
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in supply chain management, with a focus on securing favourable pricing and managing stock levels.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with a strong understanding of stock management practices and SAP knowledge.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers.
- Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business principles and the ability to drive business growth and profitability.
