About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Gastroenterology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our Gastroenterology Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders
  • Lead and manage outpatient and inpatient services, including endoscopy units
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Contribute to the development of our Gastroenterology Services, including expanding our IBD service and developing an Endoscopic Ultrasound Service
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, and research activities
  • Supervise and teach junior doctors, medical students, and other staff
Requirements
  • MB ChB/MBBS or equivalent MRCP
  • CCT in Gastroenterology (or equivalent or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview) or on the Specialist Register
  • Experience in clinical training and management of gastrointestinal disorders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to clinical governance, audit, and research
