About the Role

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our nursing team at Newquay Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to our elderly patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and support patients with personal care needs, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Undertake clinical observations, monitoring patients' conditions and reporting any concerns to the management team.
  • Engage in general social interaction with patients, providing emotional support and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Support patients with meals, including preparation and service, and assist with personal care tasks.
  • Contribute to the wider team's efforts in domestic and housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Meet and greet patients, families, and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Carry out and support other duties as required by trained and experienced staff, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  • Document support and care on computer notes, maintaining accurate records.
  • Make and receive telephone calls, communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
