About the Role

The University of Manchester is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Communications, Marketing, and Student Recruitment to lead our communications and marketing efforts. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases the University's excellence and achievements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading institution and contribute to its continued success. You will work closely with our President and Vice-Chancellor, as well as other senior leaders, to promote the University's brand and reputation, and to recruit top talent from around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that aligns with the University's goals and objectives
  • Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality communications and marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with faculty and departmental leaders to promote their research and academic achievements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government, and industry partners
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on communications and marketing matters
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in communications and marketing leadership, preferably in a higher education or similar sector
  • Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement complex communications plans
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of communications professionals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex communications issues and develop effective solutions
