Job Title: Transport Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team in Kettering. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of our transportation operations while maintaining high levels of customer service and compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute daily and night-time transportation operations in line with company plans and customer requirements.
  • Lead and motivate a team of drivers to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and address any issues that may arise during operations, ensuring minimal impact on vehicle earnings and customer service levels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to transport-related compliance and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct investigations and return-to-work interviews as required.
  • Manage TMS system compliance and create loads as needed.
  • Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as required.
  • Coordinate and build key KPI reports for customers.
  • Ensure accurate trailer checks and site team awareness of safety standards.
  • Perform other transport office-related duties, including POD control and scanning.
Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a busy transport office environment.
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good standard of education.
  • IT literacy.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Knowledge of transport systems.
