This position is for an actuarial analyst within the VitalityLife Pricing team, focusing on the execution of our pricing and new business value initiatives. A solid grasp of life insurance actuarial principles and the UK life insurance landscape is essential. You will play a key role in enhancing our pricing strategy and positioning, overseeing the pricing control cycle from conception to execution.Key Responsibilities:
Execute the pricing control cycle: identifying areas for enhancement in pricing strategy, formulating effective improvement plans. You will implement these through our pricing system and analyze the outcomes. Enhance and manage the end-to-end repricing processes for current business offerings, encompassing all actuarial, analytical, and modeling components. Optimize and operate pricing models while evaluating existing pricing strategies. Evaluate the feasibility of commercial agreements and present proposals to senior leadership. Support data analysis necessary for repricing and sales performance monitoring. Compile and deliver reports for relevant committees and forums.The candidate will receive support and is expected to work towards qualifying as an Actuary through the company study program.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or statistics-related field Actuarial Student (progressing through Core exams) with a commitment to continuing actuarial education (exam support available). Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques using Microsoft Excel, Python / R, and database languages such as SQL. Experience in translating complex business challenges into analytical solutions, effectively communicating proposals and executing actions.
