This is a pivotal moment to join our team as we integrate our operations within a new Care Group framework, which presents the chance to contribute to the development and continuous quality enhancement of our Clinical Business Unit. Our organization is recognized for delivering exceptional healthcare and encompasses a diverse array of theatre specialties, including Head and Neck surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular, Breast, Urology, Gynaecology, and General Surgery.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking theatre practitioners proficient in scrub, anaesthetic, and recovery roles.

Candidates must be registered nurses or ODPs with a minimum of three years of theatre experience at Band 5.

Successful applicants will need to exhibit motivation, the ability to work independently, and be a collaborative team member capable of prioritizing tasks while supporting the team leader and theatre coordinator to ensure a safe and effective service for our patients.

Following our recent quality inspection, our surgical division received a 'Good' rating across all five key standards, indicating that you would be joining a high-performing team and would be expected to assist the Team Leader in driving improvements within Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Candidate Profile

Experience

Essential

  • Proven high standard of clinical practice in a theatre environment.
  • Minimum of three years of theatre experience at Band 5.
  • Demonstrated ability in resource management.

Desirable

  • Experience in budget management.
  • Experience in change management.

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to prioritize and organize personal workload.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to work effectively within a perioperative team.
  • Awareness of current healthcare issues.
  • Specialized knowledge of theatre operations and specialties.

Desirable

  • Financial awareness and understanding of resource management.
  • IV skills.
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse or ODP.
  • Relevant qualifications such as ENB 6590, 998, C&G 730, or equivalent.
  • Health-related diploma or degree, or evidence of further academic study.

Desirable

  • ENB 176/182.
  • Management Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership training.
