About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the largest overhaul of the UK electricity grid in generations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, refurbishment, and maintenance of substation plant and equipment
  • Fault investigation and repair of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Condition monitoring and routine maintenance to meet commercial targets
  • Working at heights, lifting operations, and panel wiring
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2/3 recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • NVQ/Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant fitting experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good all-round engineering skills, including working to safety procedures and mechanical fitting
What We Offer
  • Competitive starting salary of £38,568 pa, including allowance

  • 37 hours Monday to Friday, with weekends off
  • 26 days holiday plus 8 statutory days
