Are you ready to take your career to the next level in the electricity transmission industry? We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Mechanical and Electrical Fitters.

About the Role

As a Mechanical and Electrical Fitter, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment. You will work on complex 275kV or 400kV circuit breakers, transformers, high-speed on-load tap changers, and cable systems, as well as ancillary equipment such as DC battery systems, air compressors, and diesel generators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and maintenance of substation equipment
  • Repair and fault investigation of substation equipment
  • Condition monitoring and routine maintenance of substation equipment
  • Working at height and lifting operations
  • Panel wiring and fault finding
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Level 2/3 recognized apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or an NVQ/Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant fitting experience
  • Good all-round engineering skills, including working to safety procedures, mechanical fitting, electrical fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and working at height
  • A full UK driving license
  • The ability to use a computer
