Our client, Jameson Legal, is searching for a junior Data Protection Officer who will report to the Group General Counsel in an excellent role. The workload has significantly increased in recent times, and the successful candidate will have experience working as a paralegal or even as a newly qualified lawyer across a variety of transactional and regulatory matters, including cross-border transactions, regulatory proceedings, and privacy and cybersecurity issues.

It is essential that the candidate will have had exposure to creating relevant privacy operational assets, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), as well as advising employees on the obligation to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). The breadth of work available is excellent, from cybersecurity compliance, incident response, and data privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of data protection policies and procedures.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on data protection best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Group General Counsel to ensure compliance with UK GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Investigate and respond to data breaches and incidents.
