HFG Insurance Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Senior Development Underwriter to join a leading Lloyd's MGA in the West Midlands area. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with key brokers, underwriting new business quotations, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Broker Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers in the West Midlands area, increasing the flow of new business activity and driving business growth.
- Underwriting: Review and underwrite new business quotations across all products within the underwriting appetite, ensuring compliance with SLAs and business requirements.
- Broker Visits and Underwriting Surgeries: Conduct regular visits to broker offices to increase brand awareness, establish contacts, and drive business growth.
- Escalation Point: Serve as the main escalation point for key brokers, providing timely and effective support to resolve queries and issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Technical Underwriting Team and key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Business Development: Regularly communicate with Business Development Managers and Regional Directors to develop and maintain broker relationships, drive business growth, and align with strategic planning.
- Culture and Standards: Play an integral role in setting standards and driving good culture within the region, working closely with the Regional Director to create a team environment with a clear vision for growth and maintaining core values.
- Referral Point: Act as a referral point for underwriters within the wider team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful underwriting outcomes.
- Customer Service: Maintain high levels of customer service, ensuring that all work is completed within SLAs and broker relationships are nurtured.
- Leadership and Initiative: Take a lead role in hospitality and enhancing the reputation of the Region and Eaton Gate as a whole, taking initiative to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
- Work Environment: Work from home with occasional visits to the London Office when necessary.
