Position Overview

OBM People is seeking an Operations Support Manager to join our dynamic team within the oil and gas service sector. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational service delivery and driving improvements to meet both performance and financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective functioning of the Operations Control Centre, ensuring safe and efficient operational practices.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Operations Manager, facilitating seamless operations.
  • Manage all vessel notifications in coordination with relevant authorities.
  • Lead operational activities during night shifts as necessary, implementing metrics to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Streamline processes to align with organizational objectives.
  • Assist in managing team performance and development initiatives.
  • Champion safe working practices in accordance with health, safety, security, environment, and quality (HSSEQ) standards.
  • Collaborate with the HSSEQ team to foster continuous safety and environmental compliance.
  • Integrate operational systems effectively.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to report on key performance indicators and generate monthly performance reports.
  • Monitor operational effectiveness to ensure sustainable demand management.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments to manage consumable stock levels.
  • Identify growth opportunities, including new service offerings and cost-saving measures.
  • Report any significant policy breaches to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Ensure Supervisors are adequately trained for their operational roles.
  • Support financial management and budgetary oversight for the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases and contribute to strategic planning focused on profitability.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Operations Manager to ensure operational success.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to cultivate effective relationships.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and teamwork.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with data entry and reporting tools.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation.
