Job Title: General Manager

Location: Preston, GB

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our Preston Depot. This role involves operational management, compliance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage drivers while ensuring compliance with Road Traffic and Working Time laws.
  • Ensure the depot complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage depot maintenance and repairs in conjunction with Group Facilities.
  • Support the operational performance of the Company by managing the day-to-day operation in accordance with process and procedures.
  • Provide effective leadership in the daily planning and running of the depot.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Participate in risk management meetings.
  • Oversee and take responsibility for all internal and external site audits.
  • Responsible for employee relations, including chairing disciplinary, grievance, and absence review meetings.
Essential Criteria:
  • Hold a Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a logistics environment
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations
  • Experience of being named on an Operators Licence within the Transport industry
