Principal Sustainability Consultant (Whole Life Carbon)

Hoare Lea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sustainability consultancy services to our clients, focusing on whole life carbon reduction and circular economy strategies.

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and driven individual with a strong background in sustainability consultancy, who can take ownership of small-scale projects and support senior team members on large-scale projects. You will lead workshops with clients and design teams, communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner, and support the training and development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver small-scale projects and support senior team members on large-scale projects
  • Lead workshops with clients and design teams
  • Communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Support the training and development of junior team members
  • Undertake a range of modelling and analysis, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, and building performance simulation
  • Support the drive towards realising net zero whole life carbon in our projects
  • Work with other members of the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of knowledge in our industry

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge, competence, and qualifications in whole life carbon, energy strategies, building regulations, and sustainability assessments
  • Experience working within sustainability consultancy, with a passion for creating sustainable solutions
  • Confidence in leading sustainability workshops with design teams
  • Good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team environment
