Principal Sustainability Consultant (Whole Life Carbon)

Hoare Lea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sustainability consultancy services to our clients, focusing on whole life carbon assessments and strategies.

About the Role:

  • Take ownership of small-scale projects and support senior team members on large-scale projects.
  • Lead workshops with clients and design teams, communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support the training and development of junior team members.
  • Undertake a range of modeling and analysis, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, and building performance simulation.
  • Support the drive towards net zero whole life carbon in our projects.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of industry knowledge.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Whole life carbon assessments and strategies.
  • Energy strategies and building regulations.
  • NABERS UK modeling and in-use energy modeling.
  • Dynamic modeling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments.
  • BREEAM and HQM assessments.
  • Circular economy strategies and net zero carbon strategies.

About You:

  • Experience working in sustainability consultancy, with a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
  • Expertise in a relevant field, with a degree in an applicable subject.
  • Confidence in leading sustainability workshops and good communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a team environment and a commitment to sustainability.
