The Water Team

The Water Team at Wardell Armstrong is a dynamic and experienced group of professionals who specialize in water-related projects. Our team members work closely with clients to deliver solutions to challenging problems, including water resources management, environmental impact assessments, and project management.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to join our Water Team as a Senior Technical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical projects, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the development of our water-related services in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects and provide guidance to junior team members
  • Contribute to the development of our water-related services in Scotland
  • Manage and deliver water-focused projects and the water elements of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Provide technical and commercial review of tenders and proposals
  • Deliver high-quality reports and presentations to clients
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development and growth initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant post-graduate experience
  • Experience of delivering water projects on budget and to deadline
  • Experience of successfully negotiating with environmental regulators
  • Experience of managing people and teams
  • Experience of delivering commercially astute water element fee proposals for inter-disciplinary projects
  • Knowledge of UK water-related legislation and guidance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Relevant undergraduate qualification (essential)
  • MSc in Hydrogeology (desirable)
  • Chartered status (desirable)
  • A full UK driving license
