Position Overview: We are currently seeking a committed and proactive Finance Analyst - Operations to become an integral part of our client's dynamic team. This role is pivotal in delivering essential financial oversight and providing valuable financial insights to support operational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Collaboration:
- Engage with senior management, including the Head of Operations and Head of Property, to furnish analytical support and insights that inform critical business decisions.
Management Accounting:
- Contribute to management accounting efforts for retail locations and operational activities, encompassing areas such as Shrinkage, Repairs & Maintenance, and Variable Costs. Conduct comprehensive month-end evaluations with senior management.
Balance Sheet Oversight:
- Assume responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing potential risks and opportunities, and conducting monthly assessments with the Finance Director.
Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Assist the operations team in the forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes, ensuring that financial targets are achieved and variances are thoroughly analyzed.
External Property Management Liaison:
- Serve as the primary contact for external property management firms, interpreting and reviewing job/store-level data related to Repairs & Maintenance and utilities.
Support for Store Management:
- Provide prompt and accurate responses to profit and loss inquiries from store management.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work alongside VAT and Fixed Asset teams to address queries or conduct analyses, ensuring seamless operations within the finance department.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or nearing qualification.
Experience:
- Extensive finance experience, particularly in month-end accounting and business collaboration.
- Experience in the retail sector, especially within a multi-site framework.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Effective problem-solving capabilities.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
- Organized and adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently.
