Role Responsibilities
The Campus Support Officers play an essential role within Accommodation Services, ensuring that every student receives the necessary support, information, and guidance to engage fully with their academic and social environment.
CSOs are integral to the frontline operations of the department, providing essential out-of-hours pastoral care and delivering informed assistance on a wide range of issues to both residents in student housing and the broader student community at Goldsmiths, University of London.
They actively connect with students, offering support and direction through various online platforms and in-person interactions. This includes organizing appointments and drop-in sessions, serving as the primary contact for out-of-hours inquiries from residents and students, as well as engaging with key stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
As a Campus Support Officer, you will significantly contribute to enriching the student experience at Goldsmiths.
The position entails a dynamic workload that varies throughout the academic year, requiring strong organizational skills, creativity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Successful candidates will possess experience in providing structured support and accurate information, with the capability to manage crises and complex situations, escalating issues to management or referring to other services as necessary. Proficiency in record-keeping and IT systems is essential, along with a dedication to professionalism and sensitivity to the diverse needs of our student and local community.
Work Schedule
This role includes weekend shifts, with two shifts from 6am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The remaining hours may be allocated to one 12-hour shift or two shifts during the week, typically in the afternoon or evening (e.g., 6pm to 6am).
Working hours will encompass periods during college closures and bank holidays, with equivalent time off in lieu provided. Due to the nature of the role, a physical presence on campus during service hours is required for each shift.
