Job Summary:

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in Ward 4. As a Registered Nurse in Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing chemotherapy, brachytherapy, and minor procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and maintain a high standard of planned nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and brachytherapy.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with diverse needs.
  • Act as a clinical role model for new staff, reflecting the philosophy, beliefs, and standards of the department.
  • Effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary team to promote a positive working partnership.
  • Participate in the rehabilitation of patients and provide support to relatives.
  • Ensure that prescribed drugs and treatments are given correctly and in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Escalate concerns in a patient's condition to senior members of the nursing team and medical staff.
  • Maintain full compliance with all essential training and clinical skills competencies.
  • Identify areas for self-development and training within the Performance Planning and Development Review structure.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification and current registration with the NMC.
  • Experience in oncology or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
