Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Karmanos Cancer Institute. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas, consistent with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence in patients.
    • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance
    • Operate and maintain all assigned imaging department equipment, including tomography scanner equipment.
  • Medication Administration
    • Properly identify, prepare, and/or administer medications that are within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Quality Assurance and Radiation Safety
    • Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology
  • Certifications
    • Certified as CT Technologist
    • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Other
    • Current BLS certification

  • Certifications
    • Certified as CT Technologist
