About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Disability Advisor - Crew Planning Expert. As a key member of our crew planning team, you will be responsible for leading the production of VAA pilot and cabin crew rosters, ensuring compliance with industrial, fatigue risk management, regulatory, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-assignment of ground, simulator, line training, and assignment of flying duties to circa 6,000 pilot and cabin crew.
  • Specialist skills in the use of industry optimisation and crew management tools (Jeppesen and AIMS) and analytical prowess to set and manipulate the planning parameters to deliver the optimal outcome.
  • Agility to replan, based on assumption changes, flexibility, and determination to meet immovable industrial and regulatory deadlines.
  • Support performance reporting, lead on continuous improvement opportunities, and act as an interface to pilot and cabin crew for clarifications and queries.
  • Participate in and support system testing (UAT), including new release and new customisations.

Requirements

  • A strong foundation in Maths and English, with GCSE (or equivalent) passes.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in understanding flight crew and cabin crew training requirements, sequencing, and qualification processes.
  • Excitement about gaining experience with crew planning and optimization systems like Jeppesen, AIMS, or similar.
  • An interest in aviation regulations, including CAA/FTL and Fatigue Risk Management, and how they impact roster planning.
  • Competency in using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • A willingness to develop knowledge in Crew Resources/Crew Logistics processes, including pairings, crew records, and leave planning.
