Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate airfreight operations, including creating and maintaining customer-standard operating procedures
  • Have a clear financial understanding of each job file(s) within your remit
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to the department manager
  • Take ownership and accountability to deliver operational excellence
  • Ensure a 'customer is king' ethos is always applied in actions for the business
  • Deliver accurate and timely paperwork in relation to the creation and issuance of import documentation
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and an in-depth understanding of the P&L of a job
  • Freighting and Invoicing
  • Create operational reports and ensure that anomalies are escalated appropriately
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, airlines, and overseas partners and agents
  • Ensure that Metro's policies and procedures are adhered to

Requirements:

  • Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight
  • Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise - preferable)
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
  • May be required to work some overtime and/or be flexible in start/finish times (during busier times)
