As a Quality Inspector at Wabtec Corporation, you will collaborate with the Quality team, taking an initiative-driven approach to address quality challenges.
Position: Quality Inspector
Compensation: Competitive Salary
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 07:00am to 16:00pm and Friday 07:00am to 12:30pm, totaling 37 hours per week.
Contract Type: Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract for 6 months
Your Impact:
Ensure timely completion of Goods in Inspection, Supplier First Article Inspection (FAI), and Customer FAI reports while maintaining accurate documentation.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Measure engineering components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Evaluate supplier documentation to confirm compliance with specifications and prepare Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) and FAI documentation.
- Initiate Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) through our internal management system.
- Authorize product release to production using the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Isolate non-conforming products for further evaluation.
- Process claims via the MRP system and coordinate the return of non-conforming items to suppliers in collaboration with the purchasing department.
- Conduct stock checks as necessary for containment actions.
- Perform random inspections of outgoing products and report findings to the Quality team.
- Engage with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns or rejected items.
- Uphold and enhance 5S standards in the Quality Quarantine and Inspection areas.
Qualifications:
- HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Skilled in utilizing various testing and precision measuring tools, along with manual hand tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and Vernier calipers.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
