About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Growth and Communities Team as a Local Growth Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of Scouting in underrepresented communities across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with District Commissioners, Group Scout Leaders, and other volunteers to open new sections and grow Scouting within the County according to the County Growth Plan.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within local areas and work with relevant lead volunteers to understand their current community reach.
  • Support the development of the Growth Plan to ensure that we are achieving our ambitions to create more Scouting opportunities for young people within IMD 1-3 areas and within predominantly Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities.
Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a remote team.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload and set of projects.
  • Experience in community engagement and the ability to recruit and support volunteers.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and operate an effective home-based office.
