Job Title: Director of Tax

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Tax to join our team at Retail Human Resources plc. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of VAT/GST and other ITX return filings, as well as maintaining compliance with rules in each jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review source data to validate content and identify anomalies
  • Prepare VAT/GST and other ITX regime filings, including digital reporting and online regimes
  • Assist with Tax Authorities enquiries and support internal tax governance
  • Account reconciliations/journal preparation
  • Assist with cash-flow modelling and import VAT recovery/validation and duty cost exposure
  • Enhancing controls and supporting governance framework
  • Review and update processes to support the compliance process and timetable
  • Support for and liaison with the tax, finance and supply chain teams
  • Ability to run data analytics analysis on current processes to identify improvements

Requirements:

  • Accounting qualification or relevant experience
  • Recent experience of VAT/ITX compliance, including US sales tax, ideal
  • Experience of direct tax regimes, such as employment taxes, would be an advantage
  • Good IT skills with the ability to request and download and analyse data required for tax submissions
  • A good communicator with the ability to adapt to and communicate with a variety of individuals and teams across tax and finance at differing levels
