Sealaska is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, expense reports, and credit card transactions for our geosciences companies.
Key Responsibilities:- Audit and process expense reports, ensuring accurate general ledger coding and compliance with company policies and contracts.
- Train employees and contractors on expense reporting and Pcard reconcilement procedures.
- Review and verify accounts payable invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and process accounts payable invoices, accurately coding them to the appropriate subsidiary and general ledger account.
- Manage accounts payable period closing, communicating with accountants about accruals and ensuring timely completion.
- Process and upload monthly company credit card transactions into accounting systems.
- Reconcile monthly purchase card receipts to bank summaries, auditing receipts for VAT compliance.
- Perform data entry and spreadsheet management tasks.
- Maintain vendor and accounts payable files and records.
- Five years' experience processing accounts payable, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT requirements.
- Ability to build and work with basic Excel spreadsheets.
