Key Responsibilities
We are seeking Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, Specialist Counselors, and Clinical/Counseling Psychologists with experience in supporting adults facing a range of mental health issues to join our collaborative and supportive team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and delivering high-intensity psychological interventions as a CBT therapist/Psychologist.
- Working with adults experiencing various anxiety and depression disorders using an approved counseling modality to ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence-based counseling.
- Providing professional supervision and guidance to trainee therapists, as well as contributing to the development of specific areas of interest within the service.
- Engaging in a range of activities alongside delivering one-on-one specialized counseling interventions.

Job Duties
- Accept referrals in accordance with established protocols.
- Assess clients for suitability for CBT/Counseling using approved models, referring complex cases to supervisors as needed.
- Contribute to diagnostic decisions and advise on the appropriateness of new referrals, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols.
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programs for clients, utilizing various IAPT modalities.
- Conduct risk assessments and take necessary actions to ensure client safety.
- Involve family members in treatment as appropriate, communicating formulations in clear, accessible language.
- Maintain an agreed activity contract regarding client contacts and clinical sessions to minimize waiting times.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings related to referrals or clients in treatment.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Completion of a PG Diploma in CBT or High Intensity (IAPT Pathway) and accreditation with the BABCP, or a doctoral-level qualification in clinical or counseling psychology with PG-level training in CBT.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments within the scope of practice.
- Ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships with clients.
Desirable
- Experience in supervising other CBT practitioners.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in mental health services.
- Ability to meet specified service targets and manage a personal caseload.
- High standards in written communication, including report writing.
- Familiarity with evidence-based psychological interventions, particularly CBT.
- Understanding of anxiety and depression as they present in primary care settings.
Desirable
- Experience in primary care services and in teaching or collaborating with other professionals.
- Knowledge of IAPTUS and experience in services with established clinical outcome targets.
