This essential position will function in a hybrid manner from our future operational sites, offering the successful candidate a unique chance to establish the systems, tools, and processes that will safeguard the definition of our distinctive product lineup.

The Role

We are seeking a Product Configuration Manager to enhance our rapidly expanding Product team at Forseven. Reporting to the Senior Product Definition Manager, you will oversee the curation and implementation of Digital Product Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, tools, and processes that will support a data ecosystem for virtual twins. This role presents a rare opportunity within the automotive industry to develop clean sheet system solutions while integrating existing systems from our corporate partners.

You will be responsible for the roadmap of Product configuration systems, tools, and methodologies to fulfill cross-functional business needs, emphasizing a single-source-of-truth approach for Product data among all stakeholders, forming a fundamental component of the new Forseven Enterprise Architecture.

You will lead a small team dedicated to Product configuration definition systems, libraries, rule sets, and their integration into the broader enterprise. Your leadership will foster a culture of collaborative innovation that challenges the status quo, driven by diverse experiences, critical thinking, and strong interpersonal relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Product Definition Systems & Tools

  • Direct the development of digital tools and data to facilitate Product Definition and Configuration Lifecycle Management for organization-wide use, collaborating closely with IT, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
  • Assist in the integration of Product Strategy, Definition, and Management systems from FORSEVEN partner organizations, including processes and governance, working in tandem with IT, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
  • Design, establish, and maintain the Product Definition data schema, encompassing feature coding libraries, cross-portfolio naming conventions, and product dictionaries for consistent cross-business and Product utilization.
  • Ensure the Product data schema is fully compatible with configuring software features, including management of potential product in-life modifications.
  • Incorporate digital product twin enablers within the system design to enhance customer experience and understanding through connected fleet analytics and insights.
  • Facilitate Product Configuration / CLM interfaces for key stakeholders to engage with a unified source of product definition truth.
  • Support stakeholders to ensure critical system uptime, redundancy, and archiving capabilities for business continuity and integrity.

Product Definition Processes and Operations

  • Develop standardized inputs/outputs and interfaces to support Product activities.
  • Enable Product data outputs and modifications from external functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Sales.
  • Generate and communicate insights into product configuration and business-level impacts to assist cross-functional teams in optimizing overall business benefits.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Market leads to ensure that market-specific Product and legal requirements and changes are accurately integrated into the CLM systems.
  • Support various stakeholder requirements throughout the CLM lifecycle, including the use of parallel systems for efficient concept development and in-cycle or Model Year activities.

Qualifications

  • A meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience managing critical information systems, preferably in an automotive OEM.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment or demonstrate adaptability in less-structured settings.
  • A comprehensive understanding of automotive (or complex digital) products, along with the information management systems necessary for their definition, including concepts of software-defined features, digital twins, and product/configuration lifecycles.
  • A highly analytical yet creative mindset capable of establishing order and control to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
  • Experience in Product, Strategy, Design, Engineering, or Marketing, ideally within a global automotive OEM.
  • Proficiency in PC systems, with strong skills in the Microsoft Office environment and familiarity with JIRA/Confluence and MIRO tools.
