Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Electronic Design Authority to join our client, a leading Defence company, in Portsmouth. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the design authorities of sub-systems for an underwater weapon system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate component-level electronic designs for introduction into volume production
  • Develop digital designs, including processor interfacing, memory devices, and communication protocols
  • Design and develop analogue circuits, including op-amps, transistor-level design, and control loops
  • Apply high power techniques and experience of design proving activities to ensure compliance against environmental requirements, including EMC
  • Collaborate with mechanical design teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Conduct design proving, integration, and defect resolution activities
  • Gather evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety
  • Apply a rigorous approach to safety aspects associated with high power/high voltage equipment
  • Previous experience in a defence or high safety integrity environment is preferred

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in electronic design and development
  • Strong understanding of digital and analogue design principles
  • Experience with design proving activities and EMC compliance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
