Position Overview

Primary Care Careers is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. This part-time role involves working 32 hours per week across four days, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.

Your responsibilities will be integrated within our existing duty team, which includes other Nurse Practitioners, a Physician Associate, and a supervising GP. The supervising GP will provide guidance and support in managing the same-day emergency appointment schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit critical thinking and demonstrate a compassionate approach to patient care, providing comprehensive services from initial assessment to treatment and follow-up.
  • Function as an independent practitioner, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in a primary care setting, while initiating referrals as necessary.
  • Offer expert guidance to patients, families, and colleagues to uphold clinical excellence.
  • Innovate and implement new strategies and practices to enhance primary care services tailored to community needs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current registration as a nurse with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Possession of a recognized Nurse Practitioner qualification at the master's level.
  • Certification in independent prescribing, with the ability to prescribe medications safely and effectively.
