Job Title: Chief Historian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Historian to join our team at Lionheart Educational Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive history curriculum across our secondary schools, working closely with middle leadership teams and a central curriculum team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a shared vision for history education across the trust, in collaboration with the Director of Curriculum.
• Work with middle leadership teams and a central curriculum team to support effective implementation of the history curriculum.
• Strengthen leadership and trust-wide secondary school improvement work.
• Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues across the trust.
• Implement outstanding teaching and learning practices in history.
• Be flexible to teach and support with teaching across trust secondary schools, as needed.

Requirements:

• Highly effective teacher and leader with a strong track record of improving student outcomes.
• Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of working in a secondary school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
