About the Role

Milk Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Instructor in Plumbing to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions to students of all ages and abilities, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Course Development: Plan, prepare, and update teaching documentation, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and online learning materials, using our learning management system.
  • Student Support: Coordinate and support course activities to help students achieve curriculum area targets, and facilitate academic tutorials to support their progress.
  • Marketing and Recruitment: Contribute to the marketing and promotion of our plumbing programs, and participate in recruitment and interviewing activities to attract top talent.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess, monitor, and record student feedback to ensure they receive the best possible support, using our data systems and processes.
  • Leadership and Quality Assurance: Lead and coordinate IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area, and contribute to quality assurance processes and curriculum design.
  • Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of your subject specialism, and complete all mandatory training in a timely manner.
  • College Policies: Actively comply with and contribute to the College's policies and procedures, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, and Data Protection.
Requirements
  • Subject Specialism: Minimum Level 3/4 in Plumbing or a related field.
  • Qualifications: Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards.
  • GCSEs: Equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Experience: Proven experience of working in an academic setting and supporting learners to achieve their needs.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the specialist sector and its requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent organisational, administrative, and time management skills, with the ability to use your own initiative to develop and improve services.
