Position Overview

In the role of Lead Software Architect within the Product and Enterprise Operations division, you will spearhead the architectural design, engineering strategy, and technical capabilities of our core curriculum platform. Your expertise will be instrumental in defining and aligning the architectural roadmap with broader enterprise platform services, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your leadership and communication skills will be essential in collaborating with both onshore and offshore engineering and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements from product owners to create effective solution designs and provide accurate timeline estimates.
  • Develop solutions using relevant programming languages, with a focus on Java/Kotlin, Micronaut, React, and Kubernetes.
  • Utilize metrics to identify enhancement opportunities and develop new features during self-directed time.
  • Produce clean, maintainable code with minimal defects, ensuring future work on any codebase is easily understandable for other developers.
  • Conduct unit testing to validate code functionality, ensuring that changes do not introduce unintended consequences.
  • Engage with data and databases, employing appropriate technologies and languages for data transfer.
  • Address customer support issues as part of the team's on-call strategy, maintaining user trust in our products.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to communicate progress on ongoing projects.
  • Create clear and concise documentation to facilitate decision-making and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into your work practices to provide innovative solutions.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement within the application and collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize enhancements.
  • Oversee the packaging and release of your code through a CI/CD pipeline, resolving any issues to ensure smooth customer experiences.
  • Conduct constructive code reviews for team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in code quality.
  • Mentor and train fellow team members, sharing knowledge to enhance team efficiency.
  • Continuously seek and implement ideas that enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Promote the culture and values of the Product and Enterprise Operations team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful services.
  • Expertise in creating solutions using Microservices Architecture and Event-Driven Architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Technical Proficiencies

  • Strong understanding and experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Ability to engage in high-level strategic architectural planning and goal setting.
  • Proficient in multiple technology domains, with a comprehensive understanding of enterprise systems.
  • Mastery of various programming languages and frameworks.
