About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Getinge. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers in the West England region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance services to customers in the field, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical devices and equipment.
  • Conduct routine testing and servicing of equipment to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on equipment, using your technical knowledge and skills to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Calibrate equipment as necessary, and report any faulty or out-of-calibration equipment to the Line Manager.
  • Maintain and monitor adequate stock levels of spare parts to ensure timely response to customer calls and enquiries.
  • Produce high-quality service documentation for submission to customers, and maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department, Technical Department, and Service Managers.
  • Follow correct returns and non-conformance report procedures at all times, and organize and prioritize a continuously changing workload to ensure all customer calls and enquiries are responded to quickly and effectively.
  • Participate in out-of-hours standby cover on a rota basis to accommodate customer needs, and produce accurate and timely written/electronic reports as required.
  • Provide sales leads to relevant Service/Sales Managers, and observe and comply with Quality System duties and responsibilities at all times.
  • Observe and comply with company and on-site Health & Safety requirements at all times.
Requirements
  • A recognized qualification in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering (such as City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2 or an equivalent qualification).
  • Experience of field-based work, with a strong work ethic and first-rate organizational skills.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience of using CRM systems such as GForce.
  • A positive attitude towards working as part of a team and on own initiative, with a willingness to travel and work away from home where necessary.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to deliver the best possible service to customers.
