Job Title: Electrical Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join our team at VINCI Energies in the UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for testing and documenting LV Switchgear panels and components, hosting factory acceptance tests with clients, and diagnosing any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed documentation of testing procedures and results.
  • Use a range of test equipment, including dielectric testers, multi-meters, and IR testers.
  • Maintain safe working practices and adhere to quality control and safety procedures.
  • Travel to sites to diagnose and fix issues with panels.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships and confidence to demonstrate testing under the presence of end customers.
  • Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions to assemble components and build and wire panels within specified timescales.
  • Carry out testing and inspection on finished Switchgear panels in line with approved standards and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to and maintain safe working practices.
  • Be able to send a panel to site with 100% confidence that it fits within specification and functions as stated.
  • Perform and host Factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests in the presence of end customers.
  • Adhere to and actively improve quality control processes and test procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites to support installation, as and when required.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical engineering or several years of experience within the LV Switchgear industry is essential.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in LV Switchgear testing.
  • A qualified Electrician with a current ECS card.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Positive "can do" attitude with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills with the ability to flexibly and proactively manage changing priorities and work to tight timescales.
  • Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communications skills must be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Able to work extended and/or unsocial hours to the full requirements of the role.
