Job Title: Java Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Lead to join our team at Vertus Partners, a leading hedge fund specializing in market connectivity. As a Java Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures our trading platforms are optimized for speed, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Java-based trading systems with a focus on market connectivity.
  • Implement and support FIX protocol messaging for order routing, execution, and post-trade processes.
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and other developers to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Work on low-latency and high-throughput systems to ensure optimal performance in trading activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to market connectivity and trading systems.
  • Continuously improve and refactor code to maintain high standards of performance, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and its application in trading environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Equity Derivatives.
  • Experience with low-latency, high-frequency trading systems and market data feeds.
  • Solid understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and memory management in Java.
  • Familiarity with message-driven architectures and middleware technologies (e.g., JMS, Kafka).
  • Proficient with version control systems, build tools, and continuous integration (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins).
  • Experience with SQL and database technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
