Job Summary: We are currently looking for a skilled Direct Technical Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring, scheduling, and controlling the supply of inventory for direct products to support the on-time shipment of assembled bearings to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Scheduling: Procure and schedule the supply of inventory for direct products, ensuring continuity of supply within inventory targets.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance and capacity against required output levels, working with the Supply Chain Team to provide information and reporting.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure inventory levels are maintained at the correct levels, negotiating prices with suppliers and monitoring supplier spending.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate the provisioning and coordination of subcontracted components, providing delivery promise and status information.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide timely clearance of imported items using import clearance procedures, and action MRP exception reports within agreed timeframes.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Be seen as the subject matter expert in direct technical procurement, using this knowledge to support sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and program management.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, supporting business strategy development and execution activities.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance to sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and QHSE and ethics policies.
  • Document Management: Ensure all departmental documents are filed in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Educated to Degree Level (or equivalent)
  • Certifications: CIPS qualification (or working towards/equivalent)

Skills:

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills
  • Relationship Building: Able to develop strong, effective relationships both internally and externally
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail
  • Negotiation: Negotiation skills
  • Technical Knowledge: Reading and understanding technical specifications and drawings
  • Software Experience: SAP experience desired
