About the Role
The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Midwife to join our Staff Bank team. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the delivery of our outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for women, taking into account their social, physical, psychological, and cultural needs.
- Work autonomously within Trust policies and guidelines to provide specialist expertise to women in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and act as an advocate for women and protector of the child within the hospital/community setting.
- Provide support and advice to all members of staff and colleagues within the multi-professional team.
Person Specification
- Essential
- Registered Midwife
- Completion of Preceptorship Programme or equivalent experience
- Meets NMC requirements for practice supervisor/assessor
- Desirable
- Evidence of ongoing professional and personal development to diploma/degree level
Requirements
- Experience as a Midwife leading to autonomous practice
- Competent to ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice
- Demonstrates a broad knowledge of current midwifery issues
- Ability to work within acute and primary healthcare settings
- Understanding of the legal framework around Safeguarding Children
- A working knowledge of clinical governance
