Safeguarding Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our safeguarding team, you will play a crucial role in promoting excellent safeguarding practice and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance to staff on adult and child safeguarding, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Assist staff in undertaking their safeguarding duties, with a focus on staff development and empowerment.
- Work collaboratively with the safeguarding team to participate in national and local initiatives, sharing best practices and ensuring the dissemination of new information and ideas.
- Design and develop processes to enable staff to protect individuals at risk, ensuring effective safeguarding practices are in place.
- Contribute to safeguarding reviews, writing reports and implementing recommendations to improve practice.
- Lead safeguarding investigations and produce written reports, ensuring effective case management and resolution.
- Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively to address shortfalls in practice, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals at risk.
- Develop and deliver safeguarding training and guidance sessions to staff, promoting a culture of safeguarding excellence.
- Lead safeguarding-related audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
- Represent the Trust at multi-agency meetings and safeguarding partnership activities, promoting a collaborative approach to safeguarding.
Our safeguarding service is a specialist team providing expert advice and operational support to staff across the Royal Devon. We work proactively with the Torbay and Devon Safeguarding Adult and Children Partnerships to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.
